One of our members has written a piece on Syria and has proposed a motion to be voted on at this month’s branch meeting.
The proposal is as follows:
Don’t bomb Syria
This branch notes:
As noted in the article provided by a member, bombing targets in Syria will cause even more loss of civilian life and the further destruction of Syrian society, leading to even more suffering for the ordinary people having to either flee their home or run the risks of staying. It could also potentially strengthen the intended targets and cause more acts of terrorism and war.
This branch resolves:
To state its opposition to bombing targets in Syria, to publicly call for it to stop, and to state its support for the people fleeing war in Syria.
