As announced on the Intranet, an agreement has been reached on the National Pay Award – a paltry 1% increase. This was what was on offer from the very beginning so it seems the “negotiations” that are mentioned in the post were largely unsuccessful.
The IWGB rejected this offer but it was accepted by the other unions.
We will ensure we put more power behind our campaign next year so that we get a much better deal!!!
Por primera vez IWGB tendrá elecciones por la posición de Presidente de la Rama UoL. Ven a ver a las candidatas presentar sus propuestas este viernes 6 de noviembre. Habrán declaraciones iniciales de Sonia Chura y Maritza Castillo, seguido de preguntas a las candidatas y respuestas.
El debate se realizará en G08, 55-59 Gordon Square, que es parte del Instituto de Educación. Se realizarán dos sesiones: 12.30-13.30 o 15.30-16.30.
Las dos serán en español e inglés y están abiertas solo para miembros de la rama Universidad de Londres.

For the first time the IWGB is holding elections for the position of Chair of the UoL Branch. Come see the candidates make their case for election this Friday the 6th of November. There will be opening statements from Sonia Chura and Maritza Castillo followed with time for questions and answers from the members.
The room in G08, 55-59 Gordon Square, which is part of the Institute of Education, and there are two sessions: either 12:30-13:30 or 15:30-16:30.
Both will be in Spanish and English and open to members of the University of London branch only.

All future legal clinics will be held at the union office, at the same time – Thursdays from 11 until 3.
It’s that time again – the branch meeting is upon us! Please do come along and participate this Friday, 12.30, IoE room S13.

There will be updates on the CAC case against the University, CoSector and branch Chair/union Treasurer elections, which will be running in November. It’s all exciting stuff, so do come if you can!

Sorry for the lack of detail, but we’ve just this minute received the results of our FOI request into the UoL’s expenditure on fighting us over our ICE request.
Bear in mind that this is BEFORE the cost of the appeal, and in the face of legal advice which suggests that they really don’t have much of a case at all…
1. I would like to request to see details of the amount spent by the University of London on legal fees and other costs relating to the recent Information and Consolation of Employees Regulations (ICE) case.
